    Diocletain was a Roman Emperor from 284 to 305 A.D. From humble beginnings, he rose through the military ranks and became emperor of Rome, stabilizing the empire, marking the end of the Crisis of the Third Century. Due to illness, he resigned from rule in 305 yet his amazingly high-quality Bronze coins have survived the test of time. Each coin in this offering has been certified in About Uncirculated condition with remarkable detail on both the front and back of the coin. The obverse depicts a proud and strong bust of Diocletian facing right, and they are large--bigger than a modern silver half-dollar.     Mithridates II ruled from 121-91 B.C. and these intricate silver drachms are much rarer than their price implies. In fact, we have never handled them before this current offering in any condition. Mithridates considered himself the "king of kings" and the Parthian empire reached its greatest during his rule. The obverse is incredibly detailed for the assigned grade and depicts a bust of Mithridates II facing left while the reverse is very finely engraved with several different letters and symbols, with the center showing Arsaces I holding a bow.     Struck nearly 2,200 years ago, these large and intricate silver tetradrachms struck by Antiochus VII have remarkable detail and history. Besides the obvious historic importance, these coins are hand-struck in high-relief and no two coins are exactly alike. They are excellent examples of Hellenistic art. Certified by NGC in About Uncirculated condition, they are remarkable ancient silver coins, indeed. The obverse depicts Antiochus VII facing right, similar to the tetradrachms of Alexander the Great.
